DocAda Light(tm)

The Integrated Hypertext Ada 95 Reference Manual(tm)

About DocAda Light: User's Guide: Format of the Document

The DocAda Light version of the Reference Manual is formatted in order to reflect the official ISO version, which lacks paragraph numbers.

The online presentation will of course slightly differ from that of the paper version, first because some formatting information has been lost in the process of transforming the documents from the original typographical markup to ASCII to HTML, second because your Web browser provides you with a particular, possibly quite limited, view of this document, and third because HTML (v3.2) does not (yet) provide full typographical control over the visual presentation of Web documents. Further, some typographical conventions used in printed documents may be inappropriate for the on-screen presentation of corresponding, hypertext documents.

The Reference Manual has been subdivided into hypertext "pages," one page for each section, annex, clause, and subclause (these are the units listed in the DocAda tables of contents). This guarantees that when you access a new page of DocAda Light you will not be forced to wait a long time for your Web browser to download and display the whole information. It also makes it easy to keep bookmarks at definite locations of DocAda Light.

The title of each DocAda page always indicates exactly where you are in DocAda. This title is normally used in the title bar of the browser window. In this page it is "DocAda Light(tm) by KSCE - User's Guide: Format of the Document", meaning that this is a general DocAda Light document page (not in the reference manual) and that it is the description of the format of the document that appears within the user's guide (the help system of DocAda Light).

A few icons are used in DocAda Light. They are first shown in the section of the user's guide that presents the DocAda principles of structured navigation, and are described in details in the directional links section.
